Swim Lessons



The YMCA is the leader in youth aquatics programming including swim lessons, safety around water, and more. In an effort to continue to grow and provide the highest quality experience for your child. We have recently upgraded our Swim Lessons to include an easier way to choose the perfect program, track your child’s progress and help them grow stronger every day. Swim Lesson upgradeThe Y has been teaching people to swim for more than a century. Swimming is a life skill as well as great exercise and a challenging sport. We offer swim lessons for all ages,private lessons, and competitive swim teams, so we can all safely enjoy the pleasures of an aquatic environment.

Students learn to be comfortable in the water, personal water safety habits, rescue skills and healthy lifestyle habits. Activities, games and drills, geared to reinforce learning, are utilized heavily as students progress in this skill-based approach to swimming.

Swim lessons offered include eight stages of learning: Water Discovery, Water Exploration, Water Acclimation, Water Movement, Water Stamina, Stroke Introduction, Stroke Development, and Stroke Mechanics. We also offer youth a competitive swim team, private lessons, and lifeguard training.


Once the Enrollment Guide is viewed and the appropriate program identified, please choose the age level from below to begin your program enrollment today. Parent and Child programs are perfect for ages 6 months-3 years. Preschool age programming is designed for those swimmers ages 3-5 years old and the school age are for youths 5 years of age – 12 years of age.

Swim class ratios are 4 swimmers to 1 instructor for all group swimming lessons!   Please view class times and fees in the current Program Guide.
