Is that a bag that Mayra Adams is modeling? Nope! That is actually a sleeping matt she made to give to the homeless this Christmas. Mayra recycled over 700 plastic grocery bags and spent two months of her time to make the matt that easily rolls up and can be carried. It also keeps the user off the ground and dry because the plastic does not absorb water.
Our ladies are also making hats, scarves and other blankets to give to the homeless this Christmas. They are accepting donations of yarn and knitting supplies. They also welcome anyone to join them when they gather on Monday mornings in the Adult Lounge from 9:00-11:00 AM. Donations can be dropped off at the Member Service Desk.
