Adventures in Learning
Ages 3-5 Years Old.
We nurture our children's cognitive, social, emotional, language, physical and creative development to form a foundation for formal education after leaving the YMCA. Our math and reading curricula has been aligned with BCSC, allowing seamless transition for children who later enroll in Kindergarten at BCSC. The YMCA Learning Center and Little Bulldog Academy at BCSC will both use Amplify's Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) curriculum, which combines skill development in reading with diverse content knowledge in history, science, literature, and the arts. This approach invites students to dig deeper and make connections across content areas.
At the Y, your child has additional opportunities to swim weekly as a class, experience fresh air fitness outdoors on our playground, and use our facilities to increase physical activity in the morning and afternoon. Quality instruction time with our teachers in a small classroom setting allows your child to have more individualized attention, focusing on your child's needs to be successful. Classroom size will not exceed 12 students per teacher. Furthermore, the Learning Center is open for an additional 25 days including spring break, fall break, and in-service days when other preschools may be closed.

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation is a voluntary system by which programs measure themselves against a national set of standards. Accreditation has grown rapidly through the years. NAEYC Accreditation has been, and continues to be, the mark of quality in early childhood education.
Our center has been accredited by the NAEYC since February, 2001. We are the only NAEYC Accredited center in Ripley, Franklin, and Decatur County. Accredited centers have undergone a comprehensive process of internal self-study, invited external professional review to verify compliance with Criteria for High-Quality Early Childhood Programs, and been found to be in substantial compliance with the criteria.
