YMCA Community Sports Complex

capital campaign

About the Project

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America and is seeing tremendous growth in southeast Indiana among all demographics.  Pickleball, along with basketball, promote physical and mental health, wellness and community cohesion.  The sports complex will be located on the YMCA’s campus and is accessible for all to enjoy!

This completed project will provide:

  • 4 pickleball courts
  • 2 half-court basketball courts
  • Lighting with timers to allow for changing season natural light
  • A beautiful landscaped shelter and area that serves as a windbreak and artistic space to gather with family and friends
  • A trailhead connecting with Batesville’s city trail in the upcoming year

OUR VISION

YMCA Community Sports Complex

The pandemic has caused the world and our Y to rethink health and wellness, creating opportunities for exercise without barriers.  Envisioning an outdoor space that allows for exercise and accessibility for all ages were key to our planning of this space.

The complex will bring community members of all ages and socio-economic groups together, with two sports that are healthy for the body and the mind. This complex will be widely utilized for

  • recreation programming
  • open play
  • family gatherings
  • tournaments

Best of all it will be FREE for ALL in the community to enjoy.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The Southeastern Indiana YMCA is launching a fundraising campaign to complete our Community Sports Complex. Our goal is to raise a total of $300,000. Will you join us in making our shelter and outdoor sports complex a destination for all to enjoy?

A donor Legacy Wall will be displayed inside the shelter. Special thanks to John A. Hillenbrand Foundation, Rising Sun Regional Foundation and Early Learning Indiana: Come Back Stronger for their leadership gifts to kick-off our campaign, and to the many others who have already donated to the project.

Donors will be recognized in the following levels:

  • $10,000-$19,999
  • $5,000-$9,999
  • $2,500-$4,999
  • $1,000-$2,499
  • $500-$999

The larger gifts will have larger size fonts.

We encourage you to prayerfully consider a gift to bring this project to reality and support physical and mental health in our community!
